New! Hit Songwriters "In The Round" for BURNT   printer  

Larry Weiss a Music Row Legend known for his huge hit Rhinestone Cowboy.

Some of Music Row’s most talented, dynamic, and inspiring songwriters performed this spring at the Bluebird Cafe for a benefit for BURNT. BURNT extends its thanks to Hit Songwriters Steve Nelson, Bonnie Baker, Steven Dale Jones, and Music Row Legend Larry Weiss (pictured to the left) and to everyone who attended. It was a wonderful success.

STEVE NELSON
Steve Nelson , and he's had his songs covered by Dusty Springfield, Lynn Anderson, O.C. Smith, Samantha Sang, Paul Anka, and many other artists. Most recently he co-wrote two songs with Guy Clark that appear on his new album, "The Dark". Steve also penned "Pooh Bear"--the theme song for the Emmy Award winning, Disney animated television series, "The New Adventures Of Winnie-the-Pooh". He was the composer for numerous television sitcoms and feature films. In 2003, he released his first CD, “Listen What the Katmandu,” (produced by Grammy winner Don Henry). His most recent release “Distance Over Time,” was also produced by Don Henry and includes guest appearances by Bruce Hornsby and Guy Clark.

STEVEN DALE JONES
Steven Dale Jones is best known for his multiple Grammy Nominated song, "One More Day" (Diamond Rio). "One More Day" was nominated for Song of the Year at the 2001 Country Music Awards, and received the coveted National Songwriter's Association Achievement award for composing the song. Other hits include: "Ten Thousand Angels" (Mindy McCready), “He Gets That From Me” (Reba McEntire), "She Wants To Be Wanted" (Ty Herndon), "Little Things" (Tanya Tucker), "I Know How The River Feels" (Diamond Rio), and "After a Kiss" (Pam Tillis) which was featured in the major motion picture Happy Texas. He is an accomplished singer/performer as well. He is featured on the BMG compilation “Names Behind The Artists” and has co-authored the book “One More Day” published by Thomas Nelson/Rutledge Hill Press.

LARRY WEISS
Larry Weiss has become known as a Music Row legend for his multi-award winning hit “Rhinestone Cowboy.” He recently received an ASCAP award honoring "Rhinestone Cowboy" as one of the Top 10 most performed country songs of the Century. Over the past three decades Larry Weiss has achieved notable success as a songwriter, artist, and producer. His songs have been recorded by some of the world's most famous artists with several charting at # 1. Among his other successes are the multi-million performance song "Bend Me Shape Me” and Barry Manilow’s “Lay Me Down (Roll Me Out To Sea)," which sold over 8 million records worldwide.

BONNIE BAKER
After being told she was too short to play professional basketball, Bonnie Baker pursued her second love, music. She signed her first publishing deal in 1997 with her first cuts following soon after in 1999. Her writing credits include the Chad Brock smash, “Ordinary Life” which went to #2 on the charts as well as the SheDaisy hit “This Woman Needs. In addition she has collaborated on such chart toppers as "My Sister" by Reba McEntire, which she wrote with Amy Dalley and Roxie Dean. She has also had songs recorded by Billy Ray Cyrus, Billy Gilman, Tammy Cochran, Blackhawk, Sara Evans, The Kinleys and Katrina Elam among others. She is currently signed with Warner-Chappell Music.
